I did triathlon way back in 1980 for a few years when the sport was still young. After college and grad school, I moved to Hong Kong and lived there for 24 years. Endurance sports are a big part of life in Asia, and I got into open water marathon swimming, racing, and triathlon again. Having done all the inaugural triathlon races in China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan, and picking up nagging injuries along the way, I moved back to the States and focused on cycling. I got the “gravel bug” in preparation for the 2019 BWR, and I found my passion in gravel riding and racing. I love all types of cycling from road to gravel to mountain biking.
