About the Event

* The Girl Gang Monthly Ride is on the 2nd Saturday of each month leaving from Velotown at 8:30 AM for both road and gravel routes.

* The road route splits mid-ride for a shorter 30 mile option or longer 47 mile option. Additionally, we have a beginner gravel route. All rides return to Velotown, where we hang out afterward.

SAFETY: Helmets are required. Please remember to avoid wheel overlap and abrupt braking. Hand signals are used to communicate road hazards. If hand signals cannot be communicated safely, please holler them out for the riders behind you.

Recommended road re-groups: 1. Long & Short Routes: La Valle Plateada (immediately after Stud Loop and before the intersection of Del Dios Hwy) 2. Long Route: Top of Del Dios Hwy (intersection of Claudan Rd). The group will then head north to the stop light on Del Dios and make a left on Citracado Pkwy. 3. Long Route: End of Elfin Forest (before the intersection of San Elijo Road). There is the choice to climb to Double Peak or head back to Velotown.

Pace: Average ride pace varies from week to week depending on the group. The entire route pace is usually 16-18 mph avg with flats 18-20 mph and hill climbs at your own pace with regrouping at the top.

Recommended Gravel Equipment: Gravel/cross bike with 32+ mm tubeless tires recommended. Please bring a hand pump/CO2 cartridges, an extra tube, and other appropriate trail side repair gear and nutrition/snacks. Trail Etiquette: We'll be sharing trails with hikers, equestrians, and other riders so please be prepared to slow down, say hi to let them know your presence, and pass in a friendly manner.
